This is a great little board that allowed us to get a very slick proof-of-concept instrumentation prototype up and running in no time. We just poked the display and buttons up through the front panel and we were in business.
We're using the PIC184520, after running out of program space on the 16F877A doing mucho floating-point and sprintf functions to the LCD in C. The board has a 20 MHz crystal instead of the 4 MHz shown on the schemo. There's no manual yet, but the schemo is enough. There's a trimmer pot on the board & not on the schemo - must be for LCD contrast.
Anyway - for $37 it saved us a ton of time and money, and is exceptionally compact to fit in small spaces. We might just order a boat-load of them and design the product around them - save ourselves trouble-shooting our own board.
