PIC16F84A Prototyping Board US$78.00

ProtoKit84
PIC16F84A Prototyping Board

This board is intended to be a complement to the emulators MU Alpha or MU Beta, but it's also possible to use it with an external programmer. It allows for debugging of simple and complex applications on the included PIC16F84A microcontroller.

When used with one of the emulators, you can debug an application within the emulator, then simply flip a switch on the board to run your application on the real MCU. While the switch is in the 'MU ALPHA' position, the peripherals are under emulator control and the on-board PIC16F84A MCU is held in the reset state. This mode also allows for programming the on-board device. When the switch is moved to the 'PIC16F84' position, the emulator becomes inactive and the peripherals are controlled by the on-board MCU.

PIC Prototyping Board Features

  • PIC16F84A MCU in socket
  • Mode and Status LEDs
  • Reset button
  • +5V supply to prototyping area
  • 2.1 mm connector for 8-15V power supply
  • 20-pin connector for emulator or external programmer
  • Mode switch to change between emulator and on-board MCU operation
No oscillator is included; the board allows you to clock the MCU with either a crystal or RC oscillator of your choice.
