mikroProg for FT90x Programmer/Debugger: USB, IDC10 Interface

mikroProg for FT90x is a fast programmer and hardware debugger. It supports all of FTDI's 32-bit FT900 Series devices: FT900, FT901, FT902, FT903, FT905, FT906, FT907, FT908. Outstanding performance, easy operation, elegant design and low price are its top features. It is supported in mikroElektronika's mikroC, mikroBASIC and mikroPascal FT90x compilers the first dedicated FT90x compilers on the market.

The programmer communicates with a PC through a USB cable, from which it also draws power. New device support is achieved simply by downloading the latest version of the mikroProg Suite software.

The mikroProg for FT90x also can be used as an in-circuit debugger in conjunction with the aforementioned mikroElektronika compilers.

The programmer is connected to the microcontroller via a flat ribbon cable with a female IDC10 connector. You can design an appropriate 25 header into your system as explained in the user manual which you can download below.

Development boards by mikroElektronika have the compatible 25 header, or pads to install one.

Note: The descriptions of the pins next to the picture of the connector in the mikroProg user manual are on the wrong pin numbers. Use this schematic diagram for an accurate reference.

One nice feature of this programmer is how the ribbon cable goes into the device. It weaves through a slot on the PCB, so tugging on the cable cannot damage the internal connector.

Package Contents

The mikroProg for FT90x ships with a USB cable, a DVD-ROM with software and drivers, and printed documentation which also can be downloaded below. The software also includes fully functional demo versions of the mikroElektronika FT90x compilers. All demo versions include a hex output size limitation, but you can request a 45-day full trial within the software. These compilers come with examples for easy prototype development.
