TFT Proto 7" carries a 800×480-pixel screen that can display 262,000 colors. Driving the display is an SSD1963 graphics controller with an 8/9/16/24-bit MCU interface that includes a deep-sleep power-saving mode (via the GPIO0 pin on the side of the board). It also has a touchpanel driven by an STMPE811 controller.
Two rows of 26 pins provide an interface to your host MCU, with 16 data and 7 control lines, plus I2C lines and an interrupt line for the touchscreen controller. Four corner mounting holes simplify integration whether you'll be using the display in a protoype or as a part of your final product.
Note: The board is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only (each side of the board has pins for bringing the power, for the sake of convenience). The picture to the right shows pins installed for illustration purposes. The pins are provided loose. You can solder them to either side or use something different, e.g. right-angle headers.
Although this display is larger, it has the same resolution as the TFT Proto 5. We also have even smaller versions that have 480×272 and 320×240 screens; see TFT Proto 4.3 and TFT-PROTO.
