The Arduino Uno click shield makes your Arduino compatible with over 95 mikroBUS click boards. It's a simple shield with two mikroBUS host sockets on one side, and an Arduino R3 connector on the opposite.
In size and shape, the Arduino Uno click shield is designed for an exact fit with Arduino Uno. However, the shield is compatible with a huge number of available Arduinos and other boards that share the same shield interface.
The small click boards are a convenient way to add specific functionality to your design — from sensors to displays, audio to motor control, communication to fiber optics, or even speech recognition. With this shield, you can choose just about any two click boards you want. Just note that some click boards are specific to 3.3V or to 5V (others have a jumper setting), so make sure that the click boards you get will be compatible with your Arduino system.
For ease of use, the Arduino Uno click shield has a small switch that allows you to bootload your Arduino without unplugging any click boards you have connected. Put the switch in the Prog position when bootloading your Arduino and return it back to the UART position afterward. The shield also has a notches that keep your Arduino's ISP header and Reset button accessible. There's a ground loop too which is useful when testing signals with an oscilloscope.
Note: The Arduino shield interface pins are unpopulated. The shield ships with a set of male header pins that you can solder yourself which will connect to a standard Arduino Uno's female shield headers. For Arduino variants that have male shield headers, you can use a female header kit (you may need to trim excess pin length for that usage, to maintain room for your click boards).
