Matrix-513 is designed for applications of remote device management which require a powerful computing platform with reliable wired and wireless communications but low power usage. It comes with two MiniPCIe slots which can accept COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, GPS and cellular 3G MiniPCIe cards. The dual independent 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports of Matrix-513 provide a flexible and reliable wired communication, and the four RS232/422/485 serial ports are ready for connecting to your serial devices. In addition, Matrix-513 is equipped with two isolated digital inputs and one relay output which can be used for device status monitoring and alarm.

Matrix-513 is shipped with a Linux 2.6.38 kernel and file system plus many software utilities such as web server, PHP, python, java, MySQL and SQLite. The software development tool chain GCC C/C++ is also ready on the Artila CD and website for free download.

The unit is powered by a 400MHz Atmel AT91SAM9G45 ARM9 SoC plus 128MB DDR2 RAM and 256MB NAND Flash. A 2MB DataFlash is used as a backup file system and provides an easy way to perform a system update or recovery at the service site.

Note: The antennas shown in the pictures are not included, because the type of antenna you will need depends on which off-the-shelf MiniPCIe wireless device(s) that you install into the Matrix-513. At the bottom of this page, there is a breakdown of common antennas and adapters that you can use.

The Matrix-513 comes two standard 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports for wired networking. It is easy to add IEEE-802.11b/g WiFi support by simply plugging in a USB2.0 High-speed WiFi dongle if you don't want to use a MiniPCIe card. The Matrix-513 also provides four high-speed TTY ports that can be set in software for RS232, RS422 or RS485. A wall-mount bracket is included.

AT91SAM9G45 Linux Box Resources

Note: The Matrix-513 has a screw terminal power connector. The power supplies offered below as an add-on option do not connect directly. If you don't want to cut off the supply's barrel connector, there is a barrel jack adapter also listed in the options. To use the adapter, you'll just need to supply two wires between the adapter and the Matrix-513.

Antenna Options

There are three holes in the back of the Matrix-513 which support an SMA or RP-SMA connector, e.g. so you can install a U.FL to SMA Adapter or a U.FL to RP-SMA Adapter which can attach to the U.FL/IPEX connector found on many MiniPCIe wireless devices, or an MMCX to SMA Adapter if your wireless device has an MMCX connector instead of U.FL. Once you have the appropriate adapter installed, the following antennas are available to connect to them (make sure the antenna you select works for the frequency of the wireless protocol your device uses). If you want an internal antenna and your wireless device has a U.FL/IPEX connector, the following are available:
