Connect RS232 or RS485 devices to your network With the ComPoint-LAN-XXL you can integrate two serial terminal devices into your network. This device server offers two DB9M interfaces which can be set up independently as RS232 or RS485 and can transmit at rates up to 1 million baud. Using this device server, it is easy and straightforward to connect your serial devices directly to your LAN. It is possible to connect virtually any serial terminals which utilize serial RS232 or RS485 connection to a workstation via the network. The device server provides all necessary network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, SNMP, Telnet, ICMP, DHCP, DNS, DDNS, ARP, BOOTP, HTTP as well as DynDNS; therefore it is independent from the operating system. By using the free AK-VirtualCom COM port redirector software, it is possible to connect the networked terminals to an existing application.
Versatile functions such as Modem emulation, PAD emulation, ConnectOnData, AutoConnect and DynDNS are available on the device server.
This device server is available with an included 5V power supply (CPLA-XXL-NT), with support for 6V-34V input (CPLA-XXL-34V), or with a Power-over-Ethernet module (CPLA-XXL-POE). Use the Power Supply option selector at the bottom of this page to choose which version you want.
