This is about 360 yards of conductive thread spun from stainless steel fiber and wound on a spool. Use it to sew up all of your e-textile projects, e.g. LilyPad components. This large spool is a great way to get into wearable electronics with plenty of thread so you can afford to make a few mistakes without worrying about running out.

This thread is spun from stainless steel fibers and doesn't have a Nylon core like the Plated Silver Type thread we used to carry. This means that while it may not be easy to solder to, it won't burn up when you touch it with a soldering iron like the Nylon did, so it can be done.

However, this thread is somewhat "hairy" and can be more difficult to work with in close, fine conditions than the other thread. It is recommended to wax the thread for hand sewing, as this should take care of any "hairy thread" issues. Waxing is impractical in machine sewing applications, so avoid sewing close connections by machine as the "hairs" could short across small distances.
