This is a bundle of the Arduino Mega Prototyping Shield Kit and the 0.5mm QFP32/QFN32 to DIP Adapter PCB. Arduino Mega R3 Prototyping Board This prototyping board allows you to design a shield for the Arduino Mega or a compatible system. This board provides many options for prototyping. Its prototyping area features 0.1" pitch rows and columns interlaced with 0.05" offset rows/columns, allowing close placement of multiple ICs (put one IC on each offset). The board comes with all the parts needed to complete the standard indicator and reset circuits, and stackable Arduino Mega R3 headers. A small solderless breadboard (170 points) is included as a bonus. SMT-to-DIP Adapter PCB This is a QFP/QFN-to-DIP adapter with a twist. This has the patented Schmartboard|ez technology to make soldering surface-mount devices easy. Your SMT part will sit in grooves that hold it in place and already have solder in them. So all you need to do is put a chip in the grooves, apply flux, and use a small enough soldering tip. The adapter supports 32-pin QFP and QFN devices with 0.5mm pitch (5×5mm body). The board also includes room for 0805 SMT components (e.g. a bypass capacitor), and pads for easy access to ground. Also, a large plated hole in the center of the device area allows for the addition of solder to utilize ground pads on the bottom of a device. A 40-pin male header strip is included. This strip can be snapped apart so that you can create the individual 16-pin segments needed to complete the 32-pin DIP package. The leftover headers will be just enough for the 0805 component pins. There are unconnected through-holes on the board too. If you want to use those for mounting, you should pick up another strip of pin headers using the option box at the bottom of this page.
