
Atmel SAMA5D35 ARM Cortex-A5 processor, 536 MHz 256MB Nand Flash, 4MB DataFlash, 512MB DDR2 SDRAM, 16MB Nor Flash Ethernet, CAN, USB Host/OTG, UART, RS485, Audio Linux 3.6.9, Android 4.0.4 The MYD-SAMA5D35 development board contains a CPU module with an Atmel SAMA5D35 ARM Cortex-A5 processor running at 536 MHz. This is a full-function evaluation kit with rich peripheral interfaces and includes Linux 3.6.9 and Android operating systems with source code. The board features 512MB DDR2 SDRAM, 256MB NandFlash, 4MB DataFlash and 16MB NorFlash memory. The on-board interfaces include HDMI (not supported by the SAMA5D35 CPU), SD Card, UART, CAN, USB Host/OTG, RS485, Ethernet (two ports), etc. The MYD-SAMA5D35 board can run Linux and Android, and is delivered with full peripheral driver source code so that you can evaluate the SAMA9D35 processor and quickly develop your own applications. The MYD-SAMA5D35 development board is provided with detailed schematic documents, datasheet, user manual and fully developed Linux and Android BSP. These allow you to evaluate, customize, and develop hardware and software to cover many fields such as consumer electronics, industrial control, security devices, electric power control systems, and web terminals. Note: By the manufacturer's own admission, Android does not perform very well on this board (not to mention the SAMA9D35 CPU doesn't support graphical displays). Best performance will be achieved under Linux. The MYC-SAMA5D35 CPU module plugs in via an SODIMM200 connector, and can be replaced by other modules so you can evaluate the different processors in the Atmel SAMA5D3x series. If you want to be able to use an LCD touchscreen with one of the alternative CPU modules, you should start with one of their kits (e.g. MYD-SAMA5D31, MYD-SAMA5D33, MYD-SAMA5D34, MYD-SAMA5D36), as they have an LCD option selector. From those pages you still can add the SAMA5D35 CPU module as an alternative at a reduced price. An LCD option isn't shown on this page because the SAMA5D35 CPU does not have an LCD controller.
