Cypress PSoC3 and PSoC5LP Development Module, for 68-pin QFN IC US$25.00

710-0008-01
Cypress PSoC3 and PSoC5LP Development Module, for 68-pin QFN IC

Work with QFN-packaged 8051 & Cortex-M3 ICs without expert soldering skills!

This development board will support one of Cypress Semiconductors' 8051-based PSoC3 or ARM Cortex-M3 based PSoC5LP microcontrollers in 68-pin QFN package (0.4mm pitch, 8×8mm body). A microcontroller is not included.

The board utilizes the patented Schmartboard|ez technology to make soldering the surface-mount device easy. Your chip will sit in grooves that hold it in place and already have solder in them. So all you need to do is put the chip in the grooves, apply flux, and use a small enough soldering tip.

Once the QFN chip is soldered, the board's DIP layout allows it to plug into a breadboard, or a prototyping board such as the 201-0302-01 for easy development, proof of concept, or utilization in prototypes.

The PSoC chips operate from 0.5V to 5.5V utilizing the on-board boost converter that will operate from 0.5V and 3.6V, an LDO with up to 35V input or an external DC source.

Note: The photo shows the Rev. A of this board. Rev. B replaces the 2×5-pin JTAG connector with a 5-pin SWD connector. See the 710-0008-05 (which has a PSoC chip already soldered) for a photo showing the new connector.

The board has 30 I/O that can be used for digital or analog signals, as well as two CapSense modules.

You can configure your hardware resources as well as develop, download and debug your software with Cypress' free PSoC Creator IDE tool, selecting library modules or creating your own.

A Full-Speed USB 2.0 Mini-B connector is provided for use with the USB HID Bootloader to program your design. You can debug your USB designs with the free SnoopyPro USB sniffer. The board also has a header for the Cypress MiniProg3 programmer/debugger.

Note: The above document links are for the Rev. B board (which has a white Molex SWD connector next to the USB connector). If you have the Rev. A board (which had a 0.5"-pitch 2×5-pin JTAG connector next to the USB connector), download these Rev. A files.
