Use SMT parts on breadboards without the need for expert soldering skills! This is a pack of 10 QFP/QFN-to-DIP adapters with a twist. These have the patented Schmartboard|ez technology to make soldering surface-mount devices easy. Your SMT part will sit in grooves that hold it in place and already have solder in them. So all you need to do is put a chip in the grooves, apply flux, and use a small enough soldering tip. Each adapter supports a 44-pin QFP or QFN device with 0.5mm pitch (7×7mm body). The boards also include room for 0805 SMT discrete components (e.g. a bypass capacitor), and pads for easy access to ground. Also, a large plated hole in the center of the device area allows for the addition of solder to utilize ground pads on the bottom of a device. Ten 40-pin male header strips are included. These strips can be snapped apart so that you can create the individual 22-pin segments needed to complete the 44-pin DIP packages and the 2-pin segments for the 0805 component headers. There are not provide enough header pins provided for all the boards! The strips total 400 pins. Calculate how many pins you'll need for your project and order additional pin headers using the option box at the bottom of this page, or purchase an additional 10-pack of header strips so you'll have more than enough.
