The MegaShield mates with an Arduino Mega board and gives you a prototyping area and two general LEDs. Also, the Arduino Mega reset switch is brought to the top level. The shield also works with two mini solderless breadboards if you don't want to solder to the prototyping area. Note: This comes in kit form and must be soldered together by the end user. All soldering is through-hole (relatively easy), but always check your component orientation before soldering. Most importantly, however, the kit only comes with 8-pin stackable headers. To complete the build with the parts provided, careful cutting of some of the stackable headers will be required. You can avoid having to cut connectors if you add a 6-pin and two 10-pin headers to your order. Arduino MegaShield Kit Features - All Arduino Mega pins are brought to the top level
- 5V and GND power buses
- Power LED
- Status LED connected to D13
- Reset Button brought to top level
Arduino MegaShield Kit Contents - MegaShield PCB with slightly staggered header pin holes to ensure headers stay in place during soldering
- 11 eight-pin stackable headers (some must be cut in order to create six-pin and 2x18-pin headers; it is recommended instead to purchase a 6-pin and two 10-pin headers from the options below)
- Bright 5mm green LED
- Bright 5mm red LED
- Two 330 Ohm resistors
- One 10k Ohm resistor
- Momentary push button
