The P89V51RD2 Controller Board is designed for motorized prototyping and usage. The board's two L298 Dual Full Bridge Drivers provide an interface to DC motors and stepper motors. A power supply jack is included for powering your motors (9V DC with at least 500mA current). Two Leone SC5 6V relays (7A @ 300V AC; 10A @ 28V DC) are on the board as well.
In addition to the motor drivers and relays, this board has a DS1307 Real-Time Clock and a 24C256 EEPROM, so you can add date/time and memory features to your design. A 2-line by 16-character LCD (HD44780-compatible controller) is included so you can show messages and status.
These interfaces all are controlled by an NXP P89V51RD2 microcontroller. The P89V51RD2 is an 80C51 microcontroller with 64 kB Flash and 1024 bytes of data RAM. It can be programmed in circuit using any FlashMagic-compatible programmer, such as the EM-P-NXP (unfortunately we no longer carry that programmer separately — only as part of the 8051 Advanced Trainer).
The I2C-based interfaces (RTC and EEPROM) require bit-bang I2C coding.
A pair of voltage regulators provide the system with a stable 5V supply. One regulator's output is used on the board; the other is available.
I/O pins of the P89V51RD2 microcontroller are brought out to headers, and a pack of 20 F-F wires is included.
