DAISY-9 is an RS232 DTE serial interface, not optoisolated, with TXD, RXD, CTS and RTS signals. It is part of the modular Daisy System that can be controlled by the FOX Board G20 via the DAISY-1 Adapter, or by the Terra Board. The following table shows which DAISY-1 (Fox) and Terra connectors accept this module: Port | Serial device | Signals | Fox D1 | /dev/ttyS2 | TXD, RXD, RTS, CTS | Fox D3 | /dev/ttyS1 | TXD, RXD, RTS, CTS | Fox D6 | /dev/ttyS4 | TXD, RXD, RTS, CTS | Fox D8 | /dev/ttyS3 | TXD, RXD | Terra D10 | /dev/ttyS4 | TXD, RXD, RTS, CTS | Terra D13 | /dev/ttyS2 | TXD, RXD, RTS, CTS | The obsolete BeeBoard can accept a single DAISY-9 module on port W1 (TXD/RXD only). The DAISY-9 board measures 40 × 45 × 18 mm. The RS232 controller is a Maxim MAX3232. RS232 Pinout The RS232 signals are available on a standard DB9 male connector. Pin | Function | Direction | 1 | | | 2 | RXD - Receive data | Input | 3 | TXD - Transmit data | Output | 4 | | | 5 | GND - Signal ground | | 6 | | | 7 | RTS - Request to send | Output | 8 | CTS - Clear to send | Input | 9 | | | DAISY-9 RS232 Interface Examples Examples for FOX Board G20 These assume the DAISY-9 is connected to Fox D3. You can change the ttyS1 reference in the code to the appropriate value for the connector you're using on your Fox or Terra Board (refer to the table above). Example for BeeBoard - daisy9e3.pde sends the analog-to-digital converter value to the serial port.
