The mikroBoard modules are designed to plug into the UNI-DS6 universal development system, but they also can be used standalone.
This board includes an Atmel AT89S8253 8051 microcontroller in a 40-pin DIP socket and an on-board fast 8051prog in-system programmer with a mini-USB connector. It also has a prototyping area where you can connect your own circuit.
mikroBoard 8051 Features
- On-board fast 8051prog programmer
- mini-USB programmer connector
- Specialized reset circuit
- AT89S8253 MCU from Atmel
- 5V power regulator circuit
- Programmer, Power and USB link LEDs
- Prototyping section
- On-Board crystal oscillator
- Can be used as a standalone device
mikroBoard as MCU card The main purpose of the mikroBoard is as an MCU card for the UNI-DS6 development system. For connection with the UNI-DS6, the mikroBoard has two 2×40 female headers. Integrated into the mikroBoard is a programmer which is used for MCU programming. To connect the on-board programmer with a PC, just plug in a mini-USB cable.
mikroBoard as standalone device To use mikroBoard as standalone device, it is necessary to place jumper J1 (STANDALONE). In standalone mode, mikroBoard can get power from a PC via USB or through the 2×40 female header. When power is supplied to the 2×40 female header, it must be a regulated 5V supply.
