Auto RTS Control (Auto Toggling) In a 1:N communication environment it is undesirable that multiple devices send data at the same time as it causes data collisions that lead to data errors. To prevent this only one device can send data at any given time, which means that data I/O control is necessary. The CS-428/9AT-mini performs automatic toggling of the RTS line by hardware, eliminating the need to implement data flow control in software. RS485 Echo Mode The CS-428/9AT can be configured for Echo or non-Echo mode. In RS485 Echo Mode the output signal (TX) is routed back to the Input (RX). This mode can, for example, be used to diagnose RS485 bus data collisions.
