For MSP430F1xx devices that do not have integrated brownout reset protection, this PCB wafer can be used to add a TPS3838 Supply Voltage Supervisor. It is installed by soldering it to the underside of your target board, beneath the JTAG header. This leaves the JTAG header available for normal use.

If you would prefer a solution that requires no soldering, you can purchase this same product in a plug form that simply plugs into your target board's JTAG header.
