This RJ12 jack with six contacts is used as an In-Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP) and in-Circuit Debugging (ICD) connector by Microchip MPLAB-ICD2 and compatible debuggers and programmers. Add ICSP/ICD capability to your PIC design by including one of these connectors.

It's also a standard connector used by telephone systems — typical phone systems use only four of the contacts (called an RJ11 connection). Many portable weather stations also use RJ11/RJ12 connections.
