This evaluation kit provides quick and easy access to the interfaces and peripheral functions supported by the XT-FEMTO-SXL Serial-to-Ethernet Module. These include one RS232 and one RS485 interface as well as a SPI 16x2-character LCD and an SD card slot. Also, a POE (Power Over Ethernet) module is included, and a prototyping area with 2mm pitch allows you to connect your own hardware. Using the prepared cables, it is possible to connect or disconnect each bus of the included XT-FEMTO-SXL module. XT-FEMTO–SXL Module Features The XT-FEMTO-SXL is a very small embedded network module which can be integrated into any terminal. The module measures only 27 × 27 × 3 mm, and can be built into your system as an SMD or a THT component (the module included in this kit has through-hole headers to plug into a socket on the EVA-KIT board). A total of two bus systems with five switchable interfaces are available, such as RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, and TTL-IO. By adding only a few additional components such as an RJ45 jack with an integrated transducer and a 3.3V power supply (which the EVA-KIT board does), your terminal will be immediately network compatible and can be accessed worldwide. Besides IPv4 and IPv6, the module supports SSL and TLS for encypted data transmissions. Using an M2M procedure you can connect to your terminal via a smartphone, tablet or PC without router configuration. The kit requires a 5V power supply or can use Power over Ethernet IEEE802.3af. The main board measures 100 × 160 mm. XT-FEMTO–SXL Evaluation Kit Resources
