This is an "internal" antenna that can be used on GPS modules that have a U.FL antenna connector. Whereas using a U.FL to SMA adapter would allow you to connect a larger antenna to the outside of your finished product, this antenna is designed to be kept inside the enclosure of your product — hence it being called an internal antenna.
