This add-on module has an STMicroelectronics L3GD20 low-power three-axis angular rate sensor. The L3GD20 includes a sensing element and an IC interface capable of providing the measured angular rate to the outside world through a digital interface. The module provides I2C interface via a 2×5-pin UEXT connector, and a SPI interface via through-hole pads. The UEXT connector provides a solderless way to connect this module to a system with a microcontroller. There are dozens of microcontroller systems and development boards that can connect to this module via UEXT using the supplied cable.
