This is essentially a ramped-up version of the Ardumoto motor driver shield. Instead of an L298 H-bridge, the Monster Moto Shield has a pair of VNH2SP30 full-bridge motor drivers. It also has beefier support circuitry, so this board is capable of driving a pair of high-current motors. The VIN and Motor Out are pitched for 5mm screw terminals, making it easy to connect larger-gauge wires than the Ardumoto can accept. Screw terminals and Arduino headers are not included. You will have to install headers before you can plug this board into your Arduino. Be sure to pick up three of the screw terminal blocks — two for your motors and one for the power input. Note: When using this board in extreme high-demand applications, it may be necessary to improve thermal performance with a heat-sink or fan and to solder the wires directly to the board instead of using a screw terminal (in addition to other complications of a high-current system). However, when using the board at currents at or below 6A, the chips will only just become noticeably warm. Arduino Motor Driver Shield Features - Voltage max: 16V
