MOD-LTR-501ALS contains a highly sensitive light sensor which can register light from 0.01 to 64000 Lux with a linear response. In addition, the sensor has a bunch of registers which you can tweak to change gains, thresholds, generate interrupts, ignore UV and IR sources, etc. There also is an IR LED on the board, so you can use this module as a proximity detector with up to 10 cm distance. This module has a UEXT connector and through-hole header pads. It communicates using I2C. UEXT Connector The UEXT connector provides a solderless way to connect this module to a system with a microcontroller. There are dozens of microcontroller systems and development boards that can connect to this module via UEXT using the supplied cable.
