8-bit (256 wiper steps) digital potentiometer Potentiometer resistance up to 10k Ohm SPI compatible serial interface, less than 1 ľA standby current Configurable 2×5-pin female IDC interface to host system Micro screw terminals for convenient connection to external device Compatible with both 3.3V and 5V systems The Digital Potentiometer Board features an MCP41010 single-channel digital potentiometer with 8-bit resolution (256 wiper steps) and industry-standard Serial Peripheral Interface. The wiper position varies linearly and is controlled via SPI. The resistance value of the digital potentiometer goes up to 10 kΩ. It features outstanding AC/DC characteristics and consumes less than 1 ľA during static operation. You can use this board in audio equipment (volume and tone controls), communications (line impedance matching), instrumentation (gain, offset adjust), LCD contrast control, programmable filters, etc. The board has a female IDC10 interface for connection to a microcontroller system. DIP switches allow you to configure the position of the MOSI, SCK and CS lines on the IDC10 connector, and the user manual lists settings compatible with the IDC10 I/O port headers found on specific development systems by mikroElektronika. Use in your own design While this board was created originally for mikroElektronika's development systems, it's certainly possible to use in your own project. To do so, you may want to pick up IDC10 box headers that you can solder onto your PCB, or an EasyTEST board to wire it up easily. Digital Potentiometer Board Resources
