This Red/Green/Blue (RGB) 5mm LED has four pins — one for each color and one for the common cathode. The cathode is the longest pin. This version of the LED has a diffused lens, so it produces relatively softer light than a clear lens would, but with minimal difference in intensity across a wide viewing angle. Compare this to the more intense but more directional light of the clear version to determine which is best for your application.
