
Atmel SAMA5D44 ARM Cortex-A5 processor, 600 MHz 512MB Nand Flash, 4MB DataFlash, 512MB DDR2 SDRAM, 64KB EEPROM HDMI, Ethernet, USB Host/Device, UART, RS485, Audio Ready-to-run Linux 3.18 provided The MYD-JA5D44 development board contains a CPU module with an Atmel SAMA5D44 ARM Cortex-A5 processor running at 600 MHz. This is a full-function evaluation kit with rich peripheral interfaces and includes a Linux 3.18 operating system. Compared to the previous-generation SAMA5D3x series, the SAMA5D44 provides an L2 cache, the NEON SIMD engine, a slightly different clock tree, a hardware video decoder, and TrustZone security technology. The board features 512MB DDR2 SDRAM, 512MB NandFlash, 4MB DataFlash and 64KB EEPROM. The on-board interfaces include serial ports, two USB Host ports, one Mini-USB Device port, two 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports, RS485, microSD card slot, Audio In/Out, HDMI, LCD interface, and more. The MYD-JA5D44 board can run Linux and is delivered with a software package, necessary cables and detailed documentation to get you started quickly right out of the box. This makes an excellent evaluation module and a good reference design for fast prototyping, creating applications that require video playback (its hardware decoder supports 720p resolution), audio, mass storage, networking, connectivity, etc. Typical applications include control panels/HMI, fitness equipment, smart grid infrastructure, communications gateways, imaging terminals, and so on. The MYC-JA5D44 CPU module plugs in via an SODIMM200 connector, and can be replaced by another modules so you can evaluate the processor in different ways on different modules, or deploy programmed modules into your own finished device.
