Freescale (Motorola) MPC5xx Development Board supporting interchangeable Personality Modules for evaluation of different MPC5xx Oak Series PowerPC microcontrollers. Includes Personality Module with your choice of MCU in ZIF socket, power supply, serial cable, BDM cable, printed manual, and support CD with programming utilities, software, and technical manuals. The CMD-5xx system provides a complete MPC5xx development environment. It comes with your choice of Personality Module each of which has an MCU installed. Other versions of the Personality Modules may be purchased independently and they can be interchanged on the motherboard, allowing you to develop on multiple versions of the MPC5xx series using the same motherboard. The system is Plug and Play with the supplied Axiom Monitor in the on-board EPROM. The board features 2 MBytes (512K x 32) Synchronous SRAM, 4 MBytes (1M x 32) Burst Flash EEPROM, Communication Interfaces, Port Replacement Logic Unit, Keypad and LCD Module support. The Axiom Monitor provides for low-cost software testing, allowing you to load code in the On-Board RAM, execute the application, and display or modify registers or memory. For advanced, high-level debugging, software development tool suites for the PowerPC core that support background debug emulation (BDM) or Nexus are recommended (not included). When your software is operational, you can relocate the code and reprogram the MPC5xx Internal Flash EEPROM or the board's fixed Flash for dedicated operation of the new application. Personality Module Features The Personality Modules plug into the CMD-5xx Motherboard, allowing you to evaluate several MPC5xx processors without the need to purchase a new complete system each time. Personality Module Options One module of your choice may be included with the CMD-5xx Motherboard at a substantial cost saving. From the drop-down box below you can choose between the following modules with the MCU soldered on: PM-555 (MPC555), PM-556 (MPC556), PM-560 (MPC560), PM-561 (MPC561), PM-562 (MPC562), PM-563 (MPC563), PM-564 (MPC564), PM-565 (MPC565), PM-566 (MPC566). For $100 more, you can choose a "T" version of any module, which has the MCU installed in a Zero-Insertion-Force (ZIF) socket for easy removal/replacement.
