MC9S12NE64 Kit Overview The CME-12NE64 is a fully assembled, fully functional development board for the Freescale (Motorola) MC9S12NE64 microcontroller. Support software for this development board is provided for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP operating systems. The board comes with a serial cable, power supply, and installed binary monitor for stand-alone operation. Application development may be performed by applying the embedded Freescale serial interface monitor, or by applying a compatible HCS12 BDM cable with supporting host software. The monitor provides an effective and low-cost debug method. For more advanced application development using the BDM interface, use the HCS12 In-Circuit, Real-Time Debugger/Programmer which comes with Metrowerks' CodeWarrior IDE with Editor, Assembler, C Compiler and Debugger. The CME-12NE64 board provides Expanded Wide Mode operation of external on-board SRAM development memory. For compatibility with the Ethernet 100 base-T operation of the NE64 device, the expanded bus will operate at 25 MHz in a lab environment (25 degrees C). This bus operating frequency is well beyond the specified expanded bus operating frequency of 16 MHz and should not be applied in user designs.
