Real-Time Clock mikroBUS Module, MCP79510, SPI, 3V3 (RTC5 click)

  • Set up alarms within 1 millisecond

  • RTC5 click carries an MCP79510 real-time clock/calendar with that uses SPI communication (mikroBUS MISO, MOSI, SCK and CS pins) along with a programmable interrupt for system output. The clock frequency is derived from an on-board 32.768kHz oscillator.

    For backup power, RTC5 click has a coin-cell Lithium-polymer battery connector (CR2025 size; the picture shows a battery installed for illustration purposes). The chip has 64 bytes of battery-backed SRAM and 1 kbit of EEPROM for storing data, along with 128 bits of protected space for storing a unique ID. The clock/calendar automatically compensates for leap years and months shorter than 31 days.

    This board is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only.

    mikroBUS Click Boards Overview

    Click boards come with header pins that you must solder yourself. After that, they just plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. The sockets are found on Clicker boards, the Flip & Click Arduino-compatible board, the Quail board, these mikromedia shields, the Microchip Curiosity board, and development systems from mikroElektronika (V7 systems and later).
