EEPROM mikroBUS Module, M95M02-DR, 2 Mbits, SPI (EEPROM 2 click)

  • EEPROM 2 click carries ST's M95M02-DR EEPROM chip with 256KB of memory. The chip has byte and page write speeds of no more than than 10 ms. It also has the capability to write up to a page of memory in a single write cycle. So instead of writing byte by byte, retrieving the new address every time like a conventional EEPROM chip would do, this one can start from a given address and subsequent bytes will be shifted down until the end of the 256-byte page.

    The M95M02-DR is specified for more than 4 million write cycles, with more than 200 years of data retention. The memory, organized as 262144 8 bits, has an additional identification page for storing sensitive application data which can be locked permanently in read-only mode. The clock frequency is 5 MHz.

    The module communicates with your target board's MCU through the mikroBUS SPI pins (CS, SCK, MISO and MOSI). A solder jumper on the board allows you to select whether 3.3V or 5V power is used. It is in the 5V position by default. This is opposite of the default setting found on other Click boards, so be careful.

    Note: The picture shows the board with through-hole headers. The board now comes populated with male pin headers already soldered for your convenience. The board's user manual has yet to be updated to remove the soldering instructions.

    Click boards plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. The sockets are found on Clicker boards, the Flip & Click Arduino/Python-compatible board, the Quail board, these mikromedia shields, the Microchip Curiosity board, and development systems from mikroElektronika (V7 systems and later).
