Capacitive Keypad mikroBUS Module, 4x Buttons (TouchKey click)

  • 3.3V or 5V power supply selection
  • TouchKey click has four capacitive pads connected to a TTP224 touchpad detector IC. Capacitive buttons like these can be toggled even when placed under a layer of glass, paper or other non-isolating material. The board generates an interrupt signal for each pad: OUTA, OUTB, OUTC and OUTD (in place of default mikroBUS RST, AN, PWM and INT pins, respectively).

    The TTP224 IC has several operating modes which can be configured by solding closed various jumpers. Modes include Fast or Low Power (the response time is just 100mS in Fast mode and 200mS in Low Power), Single-key or Multi-key, Direct (momentary) or Toggle buttons, etc. All the available settings are as follows:

    Default Secondary
    LPMB Fast Low power
    TOG Direct Toggle
    AHLB High output Low output
    MOT0 Infinite on time 16 sec. max on time
    OD CMOS active Open Drain
    SM Multi-key Single-key

    Another solder jumper allows you to select 3.3V or 5V power supply (in 3.3V position by default).

    Note: The picture shows the board with through-hole headers. The board now comes populated with male pin headers already soldered for your convenience. The board's user manual has yet to be updated to remove the soldering instructions.

    mikroBUS Click Boards Overview

    Click boards plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. The sockets are found on Clicker boards, the Flip & Click Arduino/Python-compatible board, the Quail board, these mikromedia shields, the Microchip Curiosity board, and development systems from mikroElektronika (V7 systems and later).
