  • 3D Motion click carries Microchip's MM7150 9-axis sensor fusion motion module. It's a complete self-contained solution comprising a 3-axis accelerometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, and an SSC7150 motion coprocessor. The motion coprocessor has sensor fusion alghoritms that take raw data from the individual sensors and filters, compensates and combines them. The resulting output accurately and reliably quantifies motion through 3D space.

    It is possible to get access to the raw data from each sensor, but the advantage of using the motion coprocessor is that it fixes the potential drawbacks of the individual sensors. Its algorithms suppress magnetic distortion and cancel gyroscope drift, all while performing background calibration.

    The board communicates with your target board's MCU through the mikroBUS I2C interface, with support for speeds up to 400kHz. WAKE and RESET pins also are used (in placed of default mikroBUS AN and RST respectively), as well as an interrupt pin (INT).

    This board is designed to use a 3.3V power supply only.

    Note: The picture shows the board with through-hole headers. The board now comes populated with male pin headers already soldered for your convenience. The board's user manual has yet to be updated to remove the soldering instructions.

    mikroBUS Click Boards Overview

    Click boards plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. The sockets are found on Clicker boards, the Flip & Click Arduino/Python-compatible board, the Quail board, these mikromedia shields, the Microchip Curiosity board, and development systems from mikroElektronika (V7 systems and later).
