The im4OLED module has a 0.96-inch 12864-pixel OLED display and four buttons. The OLED is controlled via I2C. The buttons are connected to iMod pins 2, 4, 5 and 6 (2=*, 4=Down, 5=OK, 6=Up). Solder jumpers allow you to change the * button to pin 3 and/or the Down button to pin 7.

This OLED display's SSD1308 controller is very popular, and there is a lot of information on the internet about how to use it with Arduino, mbed and other platforms.

The display itself may vary. Typically the OLEDs used to manufacture this iMod have a white or blue display color. Some are made with the first line of text as white or yellow while the rest displays as blue. We cannot guarantee which color display you will receive.

The four buttons do NOT have any pull-up resistors. There is space for a 5-pin SIL-bused resistor network if pull-up resistors are required. Normally the buttons will be connected to a microcontroller's port pins, in which case the pull-up resistors of the ports can be enabled.

The OLED can be configured for 3.3V or 5V via a solder jumper on the back of the board. It is set to 3.3V by default.

The module's total dimensions are 26.5 50.5 mm (1.04 1.99 inches).

iMod Pin Configuration

This is an iMod module with 1.8" pin column width, meaning it uses a standard pinout and configuration that allows it to be connected easily to a host board that has iMod ports. This module is designed to span across two ports one 0.7" and one 0.9" width; see the DEVKIT-ST1L for an example photo. Other possibilities include the SBC83I or either of the PT66EI Prototyping Add-ons for other boards in the SBC66 series.

The pin pitch is 0.1" so you can use the module also on any typical prototyping board or breadboard.

Pin Header Options

Use the Headers option at the bottom of this page to select what type of pin headers you want included with the module. The default option is for common rectangular pins included loose. All pin header types use 3mm long pins. The header strips will be seven pins for each side.

Below the header option selector, you will see socket strips that will mate with the Round Swiss pin header type. If you want to install the socket strips on your prototype so that you can plug in this module with Round Swiss pins, make sure to change and Update the quantity of sockets to 2 during checkout. (While a 7-pin socket is not available as a separate item, you can break off one pin from the 8-pin sockets to make them into 7-pin sockets.)
