I2C to 1-Wire Bridge, DS2482-800, mikroBUS (I2C 1 Wire click)


  • Eight independent 1-Wire I/O pins
  • Three jumpers for assigning I2C addresses
  • Supports both standard I2C (up to 100kHz) and fast I2C (up to 400kHz)
  • Can use either 3.3V or 5V power supply
  • I2C 1-Wire click carries the DS2482-800 bridge device that performs bi-directional conversions between I2C masters and 1-Wire slave devices. These can be EEPROM chips, temperature sensors and similar devices that have momentary high source current modes. This module enables any host with I2C to generate properly timed 1-Wire waveforms to its slave devices. The I2C interface (mikroBUS SCL and SDA pins) supports both standard I2C (100kHz max) and fast I2C (400kHz) communication speeds.

    In addition to the mikroBUS interface, I2C 1-Wire click has an 8-channel pinout (each pin an independently operated 1-Wire I/O).

    The board is designed to use either a 3.3V or 5V power supply, which is determined by the setting of a solder jumper. This jumper comes in the 3.3V position by default.

    Examples of 1-Wire devices that you can connect to this module include the DS18S20+ temperature sensor, the ColoPAL light sensor, the Unique ID click serial number module, the Expand 3 click port expander module, and the Thermo 2 click temperature sensor module.

    Note: The picture shows the board with through-hole headers. The board now comes populated with male pin headers already soldered for your convenience. The board's user manual has yet to be updated to remove the soldering instructions.

    mikroBUS Click Boards Overview

    Click boards plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. The sockets are found on Clicker boards, the Flip & Click Arduino/Python-compatible board, the Quail board, these mikromedia shields, the Microchip Curiosity board, and development systems from mikroElektronika (V7 systems and later).
