Pi 2 click shield is an extension for the popular Raspberry Pi mini-computer models 2B, B+ and A+. It conforms to the expanded pinout of those newer models (40 pins). It's a simple shield with two mikroBUS host sockets to make your Raspberry Pi compatible with more than 150 different types of Click Boards. These boards in combination with this shield will allow your Raspberry Pi to have GSM, GPS, WiFi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, RFID, capacitive touch sensing, or other, more unusual functions, like thunder detection, gesture and color sensing, etc. With two mikroBUS sockets, more than 1000 combinations are possible on this shield.
The shield comes with all headers already soldered on. Two 12mm distancers with mounting screws are included as well. The board has two additional mounting holes if you want to secure it even more. An oscilloscope probe ground point is on the board too.
If you have an older Raspberry Pi with the 26-pin expansion header, see the original Pi Click Shield.
Example Construction This image shows how the Pi 2 Click Shield is used to add the functionality of the GPS3 click and WiFi3 click to a Raspberry Pi 2.
mikroBUS Click Boards Overview Click boards plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. Newer (v7) development systems manufactured by mikroElektronika, which we carry, have mikroBUS sockets already built in. You also can connect Click boards to other systems via adapters such as this one. Other adapters exist for Arduino, BeagleBone Black, Discovery, LaunchPad, Freedom, and PC interfaces. In addition, it is royalty-free to incorporate mikroBUS into your own designs. Visit the mikroBUS Category to see the full line of Click boards and adapters.
