Combine various sensors, displays, motor drivers or communication modules to blend different functionalities together and come up with new and original gadgets! Clicker 2 for FT90x is a compact development board featuring a 32-bit FTDI FT900Q microcontroller and two mikroBUS host sockets that allow you to plug in any two out of more than 100 different plug-and-play peripheral modules (called Click boards). The FT900Q chip comes preprogrammed with a fast USB HID bootloader, so you can load code into it without needing an external programmer. If you want to use an external programmer, pads are available on the board for installing a header compatible with the mikroProg-FT90x. Header pins are included for this purpose. The board also has two rows of pads (26 pins each; headers included) for connection to external electronics (compatible with the mikromedia shields shown in the options below), and a LiPo battery connector (for Molex 5264-2P). An LTC3586-1 power management IC allows charging of a connected battery via USB and provides 3.3V or 5V to your click boards. The mikroBUS host connectors each consist of two 1×8 female headers with SPI, I2C, UART, RST, PWM, Analog and Interrupt lines as well as 3.3V, 5V and GND power lines. Rounding off the board's features are buttons (two User; one Reset), LEDs (two User; Power; Charge Status), and pads for connecting your own external on/off switch if the on-board switch is not convenient (e.g. if the board is going into an enclosure). The user LEDs can be used for visual indication of the logic state on pins P34 and P18. The user buttons are connected to P35 and P2. A 12MHz crystal oscillator provides a reference frequency output to the clock multiplier PLL. A 32.7kHz crystal oscillator provides a clock for the internal RTCC. The board measures 60.45 × 81.15 mm (2.4 × 3.2 inches). Without Click boards installed, it weighs 26 grams (0.912 ounces). It can be powered via USB or external battery.
