Hall-Effect Sensor (doors and windows)
This is a magnetic sensor based on the Hall effect. The sensor's switch remains closed in the presence of a magnetic field, opening in its absence. You can mount this sensor with screws to a door or to window frame, and mount its complementary magnet to the closing point, and thus monitor when the door or window is opened and closed.
