The BeagleBone Black Proto Cape is a great way to prototype or design custom capes and provides you access to all GPIO pins available on the BeagleBone Black. The Proto Cape easily mates with your BeagleBone Black and gives you a large prototyping area, two red LEDs for user applications or debugging, and access to a blank I2C EEPROM that is great for storing pin configuration data. Each BeagleBone Black Proto Cape offers plenty of space to prototype with 0.1"-spaced through-holes. There are two power buses provided along with ground connections on both sides of the board. With this cape, you should have no trouble designing and creating whatever kind of add-on you would like to be attached to your BeagleBone Black. This board does not come with headers. Purchase either two strips of 2×40 dual-row headers or the pack of 10 strips (which is a much better deal if you have use for the extras). The strips can be broken down easily to the 2×23 size used by the BeagleBone Black. BeagleBone Black Proto Cape Features - Large prototyping area
- Two general-use LEDs
- 5V, 3.3V, and GND pins exposed on both sides
- CAT24C256 EEPROM left blank
256kb EEPROM Addressing The default address for the EEPROM is 0x54. You can change it by applying solder to either or both of jumpers A1 and A0. This may be necessary if you have another cape in use. A1 | A0 | 7-bit address | 0 | 0 | 0x54 | 0 | 1 | 0x55 | 1 | 0 | 0x56 | 1 | 1 | 0x57 | BeagleBone Black Proto Cape Resources
