Pi click shield is an extension for the popular Raspberry Pi mini-computer. It's a simple shield with a mikroBUS host socket to make your Raspberry Pi compatible with more than 95 different types of Click Boards. These boards in combination with this shield will allow your Raspberry Pi to have GSM, GPS, WiFi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, RFID, capacitive touch sensing, or other, more unusual functions, like thunder detection, proximity and color sensing, etc.
The package includes two 1×8 sockets and a single 2×13 female socket, as well as a 12mm distancer with two screws for secure mounting. The sockets are not installed! This gives you the option of soldering boards directly, for a more compact system than if you were to use the sockets.
Note: This shield is for the original Raspberry Pi designs with a 26-pin expansion header. For the newer Raspberry Pi models with a 40-pin expansion header (e.g. A+, B+ and 2B), see the Pi 2 click shield.
Example Construction The following images show how the Pi click shield is used to add the functionality of the RELAY click to a Raspberry Pi. These images show the sockets being used. The total height can be reduced by making permanent direct solder connections.

mikroBUS Click Boards Overview Click boards come with header pins that you must solder yourself. After that, they just plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. Newer (v7) development systems manufactured by mikroElektronika, which we carry, have mikroBUS sockets already built in. You also can connect Click boards to other systems via adapters such as this one. Other adapters exist for Arduino, BeagleBone Black, Discovery, LaunchPad, Freedom, and PC interfaces.
