The TFT Developer Kit 3 for STM32 M3 gives you a jump start in developing graphical user interfaces on TFT displays using an STM32F207VGT6 microcontroller and the C programming language. It bundles the mikromedia for STM32 M3, a stylus for its touchscreen, a 2GB microSD card with adapter, a license key for the Visual TFT design software, and a USB license dongle of the mikroC for ARM integrated development environment. mikromedia for STM32 M3 Overview The mikromedia for STM32 M3 is a compact development system with lots of on-board peripherals which allows development of hand-held devices with multimedia content. The central part of the system is the 32-bit STM32F207VGT6 ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller. The mikromedia for STM32 M3 features integrated modules such as stereo MP3 codec, TFT 320×240 touch screen display, accelerometer, USB connector, audio connector, MMC/SD card slot, 8 Mbit Flash memory, and more. The board features a front-facing reset button, battery charger circuit for Li-Polymer batteries, crystal oscillator, and connection pads for all other available pins. The board measures 81.15 × 60.45 mm (3.195 × 2.38 inches). All unused microcontroller pins are available via pads along the sides of the board (header pins are provided loose). These allow you to add on mikromedia shields (see options below). A color user manual and code examples are included. The board comes pre-programmed with a USB bootloader, so you won't have to spend a penny more on external programmers. If you do want to, pins pads are available for installing a JTAG header compatible with the mikroProg-STM32 or the included ST-Link v2 adapter. The system is powered by your PC via USB. Simply plug in the USB cable and the TFT display will turn on automatically. It also can be battery powered. Please see the mikromedia for STM32 M3 page for more details and to download its user manual. Visual TFT Overview Visual TFT is a standalone application used for rapid development of graphical user interfaces for TFT displays. The software generates code compatible with mikroElektronika compilers for all supported MCU architectures. Visual TFT implements an intuitive environment and many drag-and-drop components which can be used for building applications easily and fast. Upgrades to the Visual TFT software are free for life. Please see the Visual TFT page for details, documentation, videos and a downloadable demo version. Overview of Compiler and IDE for ARM mikroC is a full-featured compiler for ARM Cortex-M0, Cortex-M3 and Cortex-M4 devices in the Stellaris, Tiva and STM32 families. It features an intuitive IDE, a powerful compiler with advanced SSA optimizations, lots of hardware and software libraries, and additional tools that will help you in your work. The compiler comes with a comprehensive Help file (700 pages) and lots of ready-to-use examples designed to get you started in no time. Each compiler license includes free upgrades and tech support for the lifetime of the product. The software features a Live Update service so you can get new features and improvements instantly. The compiler is designed to be smart and efficient, so you can rely on it to do the hard work. It features SSA optimizations that can reduce your code size up to 40 percent. Standard header files are included that make it easy to port your code from other C compilers. Please see the mikroC Page for a detailed list of features, documentation, and a downloadable demo version.
