This package includes a Wii Nunchuck game controller and an interface board that allows you to connect it to any Microchip PIC development board with an ICSP connector. The Nunchuck will communicate with your board's microcontroller via I2C. This creates a simple way to add a comfortable user interface to your project. The Wii Nunchuck controller features an analog joystick, two buttons, and a 3-axis accelerometer (LIS3L02AL).
ICSP connectors typically aren't used once a PIC is programmed, taking up board space. This module allows you to utilize them as an I2C interface to the Nunchuck.
The module has two ICSP connectors: A larger 6-pin single-row header with 0.1" pitch, and a miniature 6-pin single-row connector. You can use either to connect to your PIC microcontroller board. No connection cable is included. Be aware of your microcontroller board's ICSP pinout when connecting.
If you already have a Nunchuck controller, you can purchase the ICSP adapter board separately. We do not sell the Nunchuck controllers separately.
MOD-WII Demo Code The following examples are intended to be run on DuinoMite boards.
Can I still use the Nunchuck on my Wii or Wii U? — Yes; it is a normal Wii Nunchuck controller, just bundled with an adapter for PIC microcontroller boards. The adapter can be unplugged.
Why is this about $10 cheaper than buying a Nunchuck by itself? — The big stores have a very high markup on the controllers, since they make almost nothing on the systems. The fact is that the majority of the price on this bundle actually is to cover the cost of the adapter board.
Can I buy the Nunchuck separately from you? — No; we are not a Nintendo distributor, so we only can bundle the controller as an accessory to the adapter.
