Connect RS232 or RS485 devices to your wireless network

Using the WLAN-MODUL-XXR you can integrate two serial terminal devices into a network by a wireless connection. This WLAN device server offers two RS232 or RS485 interfaces, WLAN and Ethernet 10/100, and is equipped with all necessary connections.

The integrated Wireless LAN offers all necessary protocols such as IEEE802.11b, IEEE802.11g as well as IEEE802.11n (Draft 3.0) to allow you an easy and simple integration. In addition, all necessary and state-of-the-art security functions such as WEP 64/128-bit, WPA1 and WPA2 Personal have been integrated, thus offering you the highest security standard.

The device is equipped with an external antenna and offers maximum 150MBps speed. Its flexibility and diversity are complemented by the various additional functions and emulations of the AK-NORD TCP/IP-STACK as well as by the robust metal housing.

Using this device server, it is easy and straightforward to connect your serial devices directly to your wireless LAN. It is possible to connect virtually any serial terminals which utilize serial RS232, V24, RS485 or RS422 connection to a workstation via the network. The device server provides all necessary network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, SNMP, Telnet, ICMP, DHCP, DNS, DDNS, ARP, BOOTP, HTTP as well as DynDNS; therefore it is independent from the operating system. By using the free AK-VirtualCom COM port redirector software, it is possible to connect the networked terminals to an existing application.

Versatile functions such as Modem emulation, PAD emulation, ConnectOnData, AutoConnect and DynDNS are available on the device server. A power supply is included.

Enclosure available

This board is the same as the ComPoint-WLAN-XXR, only without the metal enclosure. The board has mounting holes so you can install it into your own case or system. If you want an enclosed system ready for deployment, you should consider that ComPoint version or one of the DIN Rail mountable RS232/RS485-to-WiFi device servers.

The lower picture to the right shows the back side of the ComPoint-WLAN-XXR; the same layout of interfaces is present on this WLAN-MODUL-XXR there's just no enclosure.
