This is a Tibbit module — part of the Tibbo Project System that allows you to build your own custom embedded device with only the components you need. Start with a Tibbo Project PCB, add Tibbits like this one, then place the built design into a Tibbo Project Box to complete your product. Tibbit #19: DB9M connector. This Tibbit provides a male DB9 interface to use in combination with any M Tibbit — whether you're making a typical RS232 connection or wanting to use a DB9 cable interface to control relays or even provide power to your system. C2 Tibbit Modules Overview C2 Tibbits are double-width "connectors" occupying two standard C sockets on a Tibbo Project PCB (i.e. TPP2 or TPP3). They have the roughly same width and height as M2T devices: 35.2mm wide usually and 17.5mm high. Their depth varies depending on the type of connector. C2 Tibbits have a single row of 11 pins: Pins 1-4 and 8-11 are I/O lines that connect directly to the I/O lines of two adjacent M sockets. Pin 5 is the +5V power pin. Pin 6 is the ground pin. Pin 7 is the +15V power pin. Since C2 devices have dedicated ground and power lines, they are not dependent on M Tibbits for power and ground, as C1 Tibbits are. There is no provision for connecting -15V power, though. If any C2 device needs -15V then this must be supplied by the adjacent M device.
