FT2232H provides necessary communication lines defined by the mikroBUS standard MCP3204 AD converter brings support for analog input Power and RX/TX LEDs on-board Mounting holes simplify integration The Click USB Adapter board provides the necessary interface for connecting mikroBUS Click add-on boards to your PC through a high-speed USB connection, without the need for microcontroller as a mediator. It's a pefect choice for PC developers who need certain external hardware modules in their applications, as there are dozens of mikroBUS modules available. Easily create temperature dataloggers, gyroscope-driven joysticks, send SMS messages, read GPS location, and most everything else you can imagine, using only Click boards and your PC. In most cases it's just plug and play (Click boards manufactured before 13 April 2016 will require you to solder their headers on yourself). This adapter board's socket makes it easy to swap between different Click boards if you want to work on more than one project. The Click USB Adapter features an FT2232H dual high-speed USB-to-UART/FIFO IC, an MCP3204 Analog-to-Digital converter, EEPROM memory and a single mikroBUS host socket. It is powered through USB cable only. Two jumpers are provided on board: J1 is used to select whether UART or I2C will be used; J2 selects whether the AN pin on the mikroBUS socket will be a GPIO pin or connected to the A/D converter circuit. This adapter can be used with both 3.3V and 5V mikroBUS boards. Example PC Application This Click USB Adapter Example Application enables you to send SMS messages directly from your PC when you have the GSM2 Click plugged into the adapter. With the help of an AT terminal window where all communication between the host and the GSM module is logged, you can send an AT command and see how the GSM module responds. Right-clicking on the AT command textbox brings up a set of selected AT commands for easy testing. The application was written in Visual Studio 2010 Express, and uses FTDI's LibMPSSE-I2C DLL.
