E-Blocks Development Combo Board

This is a downstream E-blocks peripheral module, designed to be controlled by one of the upstream E-blocks processing boards which are available in a variety of MCU/CPLD architectures.

This flexible development board is an ideal platform for learning and project development. It was designed to allow those with little or no experience of embedded microcontroller programming to be able to produce highly functional designs in as short a time as possible. The board will work with any upstream E-blocks system, allowing multiple technologies to be explored using this single downstream E-blocks board.

It includes switches on Port A and Port B I/O pins, a quad 7-segment display, a 2-line by 16-character alphanumeric display, a simple analog light sensor, and a potentiometer for sensor simulation.

This board does not have a microcontroller; it is designed for you to plug one of these upstream E-blocks boards into the Port A and Port B DB9 ports:

  • EB006 (PIC)
  • EB064 (dsPIC/PIC24)
  • EB185 (ARM)
  • EB194 (AVR)
  • EB089 (Altera FPGA)

  • ...or for you to plug in one of these adapters for popular microcontroller systems:

  • EB092 (adapter for Arduino Mega/Uno/Leonardo/Mini/Micro/Nano allows this Combo Board to use up to eight* analog and eight digital pins) *How many analog pins are available depends on which Arduino is used.
  • EB093 (adapter for Arduino Uno/Leonardo/Mini/Micro/Nano allows this Combo Board to use six analog and eight digital pins)
  • EB380 (adapter for Raspberry Pi)

The board is ideal for use in conjunction with the Assembly, C and Flowcode programming tutorial software related to each of those upstream E-blocks. See their individual pages for links to each software and related bundle packages.
