The mikroProg for 8051 is a fast in-circuit programmer that supports the Atmel AT89 family of microcontrollers (15 devices). The programmer communicates with a PC through a USB cable, from which it also draws power.
The mikroProg for 8051 is supported in mikroElektronika compilers, or can be used as a standalone programming tool with the included 8051Flash software.
For connection with a target device, mikroProg uses a 2×5-pin IDC10 connector. The pinout is the same as was used by mikroElektronika's previous 8051prog2 programmer, so any boards that were designed for the 8051prog2 can be programmed with the mikroProg-8051 too.
A nice feature of this programmer is how the ribbon cable goes into the device. It weaves through a slot on the PCB, so tugging on the cable cannot damage the internal connector.
8051 In-Circuit Programmer Supported Devices The mikroProg for 8051 supports the following microcontrollers. Any new MCUs in the AT89 family will be supported by new versions of the free 8051Flash software.
