With the mikroBUS Shield, you can add up to two plug-and-play Click Boards to any of the standard-size mikromedia multimedia boards, or add two more Click Boards to any clicker 2 board. There's also a large prototyping area on the shield so that you can expand the base functionality with custom features.
mikroBUS is a specially designed pinout standard used by the Click Boards, which provide plug-and-play add-on functions to a development system with a mikroBUS socket. This shield adds mikroBUS compatibility to any mikromedia board, and doubles the mikroBUS possibilities of any clicker 2.
The shield comes with two 26-pin female sockets for mounting to your mikromedia system, and four 8-pin female sockets for facilitating the mikroBUS host connection. The sockets are not installed by default. This gives you a choice of either using the sockets or making permanent solder connections between the mikromedia, this shield, and the Click boards.
The picture below shows this shield mounted on a mikromedia board and with the mikroBUS sockets installed.
The shield has a silkscreen label for all the pins (some of the mikromedia connections are labeled on the bottom side only due to space conflict with the mikroBUS connections). The pin spacing is standard 2.54mm (0.1") distance, including the prototype area.
Compatible boards This shield is compatible with the smaller range mikromedia boards that have a green PCB: This shield also is compatible with clicker 2 microcontroller boards. Using this shield with a clicker 2 enables you to connect four Click boards at a time.
