This board is a simple adapter for 10 port pins (labeled D0-D7, VCC, GND). One end of the board has 10 header pads; the other has a ribbon cable with 2×5-pin female IDC10 connector (the cable is secured to the board). Both are at standard 0.1" pin spacing. Male header pins are included loose that you can solder to the single-row pads. The pinout is labeled to be compatible with the various 2×5-pin I/O port headers found on development systems by mikroElektronika. This board was designed as a means to connect third-party components to those systems. The labels are arbitrary, though, so if you design a system that has VCC on pin 1 instead of pin 9 of the connector, you can use the D0 labeled pin for VCC and use the VCC labeled pin as something else, and so on. The labels are on both sides of the board, so if you want to flip it over, the single-row pad labels will remain clearly visible. Because the pads are unpopulated, you can decide whether to solder the included strip of pins on the top side or bottom side, or you can choose to install some other type of connection (e.g. 90-degree pins or a female socket).
