  • This board features two 8-bit non-inverting bus transceivers, model LVXC3245. All inputs and outputs are 5V tolerant. LVXC3245 is manufactured in advanced dual-metal CMOS technology. This bus transceiver contains two separate supply rails that allow transition from a 5V to 3.3V system environment. This bus transceiver is ideal for asynchronous communication between two data buses (A and B). It transmits data from A to B or vice versa, depending on the logic level at the direction-control (DIR) input. The board contains an MC33269DT-3.3 voltage regulator that can be enabled using a jumper to create 3.3V power for the Low-Voltage Port if your device is not capable of supplying 3.3V itself.

    The board uses two power supply voltages. The 5V power is supplied from the development system, while the 3.3V supply either is provided from the device on the other side or from the development system. A jumper allows you to enable an MC33269DT-3.3 voltage regulator that will provide the 3.3V power from the 5V side.

    The 5V-3.3V Voltage Translator Board is capable of bi-directional adjustment, meaning that voltage signals may be sent and received at the same time (from 5V to 3.3V and vice versa). In bi-directional mode, the position of jumpers depends on the voltage signal direction. For example, if voltage signals are sent from a development system (5V) via the HSV0 pin to a device (3.3V) via the LVS0 pin, it is necessary to place those pins' jumpers into the position marked → (this is the default position). At the same time, voltage signals may be sent from the device (3.3V) via LVS1 to the development system (5V) via HVS1, provided that those pins' jumpers are placed in the position marked ←. Those rules apply to all jumpers on the board HVS0-7 and LVS0-7.
